FACELIFT, MINI FACELIFT, &
NECK LIFT
The facelift and neck lift are probably the most famous procedures
in
plastic
surgery. Actually, infamous may be a better word. But with
today's new surgical techniques and advancements, the procedures
are more effective and natural-looking than ever. Both procedures
involve tightening the skin and underlying tissue to leave
you looking refreshed, rested and healthy. Many patients look
as much as five to ten years younger and best of all, they
look younger naturally. For less dramatic results (and a less
invasive procedure) mini facelifts can rejuvenate the appearance
of your face and eyes with much shorter recovery than a full
facelift.
A facelift, or rhytidectomy, is surgery performed
to improve and sometimes eliminate evidence of aging, such
as wrinkles and sagging skin, on the face and neck.
Although there are times when removing skin is helpful for
excess skin folds of the neck and jowls, it often fails to
treat significant areas of concern, such as the hollows below
the eyes, or frown lines. An endoscopic browlift can treat
frown lines without the traditional scar across the scalp.
A mid-facelift can elevate the sagging fat and muscles of
the cheeks to help return the natural, youthful fullness to
the area below the eyes. As is evident in younger women, fullness
in the lower lids is a sign of youth, while hollowness is
a sign of aging. Because of this, removing fat from the lower
eyelids does not always make sense. When there are bags or
protruding fat of the eyelids, rather than remove it, it's
redraped with a blepharoplasty to help fill the hollow below
the eyes.
